Welcome

Welcome to my 365 project. I am using NE Wisconsin barns for my theme. I hope to capture a new barn every day. I would like this to be a narrative of the plight of barns in Wisconsin. Many are falling into disrepair, or are being completely removed.

I have mirrored these images on my photography website http://robertelko.zenfolio.com/ . These images are larger, and higher in resolution. They are available for purchase.

If you are in the area, and would like to see the barns for yourself, click on the city name at the bottom of the photo. It will take you to google maps.

Thanks for stopping!!

Hwy 76.

This is a really cool looking barn. I love that yo can see right through it. It is a little out of place on the highway as it is only about twenty feet from the road. There is a gas station across the road that I stopped at to take the photo.

W 1st Avenue. This is another barn owned by Ed, Raymond, and Richard. I am going to come back and do some portraits at this site.

Center Valley Road. I am finding that a lot of the barns I see have a lot of aging. Not everyone can keep their barn pristine. Broken windows and crooked doors are the norm. It is too bad that all of them can't be around for another hundred years.

Hwy 41. Random barn taken at 65 miles per hour somewhere between West Bend and Lomira. On the way home from a great day on the water with relatives.

Hwy 45. Heading south. It was sad to leave my first home, but it was good to get back to my family after a long week of fishing. This is a random barn somewhere north of Antigo.

Hwy G near Sunset Road. This is the most beautiful barn I found in my short travels north.

Boot Lake Road. The hidden barn. Yes there really is one back there in the trees. I guess that is the difference between a barn up north and one in the valley.

Hwy 17 and Shangri-La Road. One of the Mayo barns. I can remember my uncle Harvey paying me a penny for every potato bug I picked off of his potatoes.
