Welcome

Welcome to my 365 project. I am using NE Wisconsin barns for my theme. I hope to capture a new barn every day. I would like this to be a narrative of the plight of barns in Wisconsin. Many are falling into disrepair, or are being completely removed.

I have mirrored these images on my photography website http://robertelko.zenfolio.com/ . These images are larger, and higher in resolution. They are available for purchase.

If you are in the area, and would like to see the barns for yourself, click on the city name at the bottom of the photo. It will take you to google maps.

Thanks for stopping!!

  3. The barn itself is interesting, but that hearse brings up some interesting questions.
I don't think I have seen a blue hearse before, either.

  7. It looks like it should have a couple of 70's teenagers in it on their way to prom... The car would just match their tux's!

  8. You are so right about the loss of traditional Wisconsin barns. I grieve this heritage loss.

I don't see the city name under this barn - - - and being from Central Wisconsin, I'm very curious!

    1. It is near Kimberly. I think on Hwy N. I was in a hurry and didn't pay attention to where I was at the time. Sometimes I have a lot of time to go find a barn and sometimes it is a rush. I have been struggling to get out every day as I broke my collarbone in December and I am still not sleeping well. So sometimes I have to go "catch up". Sometimes this is difficult as well because of all of the kids activities that we need to be a taxi for.

  11. What in the world does a hearse have to do with a beautiful old barn”? That is the question of the night. It does look pretty impressive out there. Hope no one is waiting to be driven away. genie

  12. Beautiful old barn. Perhaps they got the old hearse cheap and use it in place of a pickup.

  14. Great barn. The top looks old and worn, but the bottom looks newer. Perhaps they're in the process of fixing it up?
